HIPAA-ready systems and workflows for healthcare providers and health-tech platforms.

We've built HIPAA-relevant software before, including a dynamic form builder plugin for structured health data collection inside a BuildFire app (see our setup guide). Healthcare data handling isn't something we retrofit after the build — it shapes the architecture from the start.

What this covers

  • HIPAA-ready data handling — access controls, retention, and logging designed in
  • Dynamic, configurable forms for structured health data collection
  • Integration with existing health-tech platforms and systems
  • Compliance gap analysis for existing healthcare software

Where projects usually start

Healthcare projects often start with a form: intake, consent, screening or follow-up information that is still collected on paper or in a tool that was never meant for health data. The goal is usually to collect it once, accurately, and keep it where only the right people can see it.

How we approach it

  • Collect only what is needed. The safest health data is the data a system never stores, so every field has a purpose.
  • Design access first. Roles, permissions and audit logging are part of the data model from the first sprint.
  • Keep data where it belongs. We choose hosting, storage and third-party services that support the agreements HIPAA requires, and avoid sending health data to tools that do not.
  • Make forms configurable. Clinical teams change questions often, so forms should change without a release.

Questions we hear

Can patients fill in forms on their phones? Yes. Forms are designed for small screens first, and they can save progress so a long intake does not have to be finished in one sitting.

Can you review an existing system? Yes. A gap analysis shows where access, retention and logging fall short and what to fix first.
